blues PEOPLE is a sonic ritual—where Black memory, resistance, and imagination collide to create music that doesn’t just perform, but liberates.
blues PEOPLE
blues PEOPLE is a contemporary jazz ensemble led by saxophonist and composer Logan Corea Richardson. Rooted in Black American musical lineage, the project centers groove-driven composition, collective improvisation, and a modern harmonic language shaped by listening, feel, and risk.
The ensemble brings together a group of deeply individual voices:
Logan Corea Richardson — saxophones – Leader and primary composer, Richardson guides the project with a balance of structure and openness, allowing the music to evolve organically in performance.
Javier Santiago — keys / synthesizers – Santiago provides harmonic depth and rhythmic elasticity, grounding the music while leaving space for expansion.
Miles Lennox — keys / synthesizers – Lennox adds texture and color through synthesizers and sound design, extending the band’s palette into contemporary and electronic territory.
Frescia Belmar — electric bass -Belmar anchors the ensemble with a deep sense of groove and melodic clarity, bridging tradition and forward motion.
Ronald Bruner Jr. — drums -Bruner drives the music with dynamic precision and explosive energy, pushing the band into moments of intensity and release.
blues PEOPLE operates as both a band and a platform for collaboration, adapting fluidly to clubs, festivals, and institutional spaces. Each performance is shaped by interaction and environment, presenting music that is forward-leaning while remaining deeply connected to history.
